Those guns are good to spot check but they can be very inaccurate on some surfaces. Also they measure the temp of a surface, not the light itself and they can be way different. The temp of the light is the number you need to work with and the digital probe thermometers are the best way to measure that accurately.

Ok, I 'll look into getting those then.

I've been very busy these last few days!
Anyway I have had the 75 watt bulb installed, but can't say if Nova prefers it. Not been able to get the thermal probes because I've been so busy. I'm thinking of ordering them online now.
So it seems Nova has gout or something now and blood in his poop. I'm wondering if he ate something bad last week? I had him outside on a warm day and he ate some clover. Maybe something was on them? We don't treat our yard with anything.
He also has been blackboarding when I put him on the basking spot and still wants to hide and sleep.
Also shows no interest is food for a few days now.
I've had some pretty bad luck with bearded in the past, my previous ones only lived to be 5 and Nova is now 4.

You need the digital probe thermometer -- does anyone spray their yards next to yours? please post a pic of the leg etc that you think has gout --- watch the poop again and see if it has blood have you fed anything red?

Hmm, I don't think the neighbors spray. Nope he hasn't eaten anything red.
But when he was about one year old, he seemed to have a sudden calcium problem and gout. I was able to treat him with liquid calcium and also increased water. It helped a lot and the gout went away, although there sis seem to be a little hard lump in his wrist that never went away.
So anyway that same wrist seems swollen and also something looks off with his knees.
He did have a hip problem back then, but that totally disappeared.
Also I had some bad experience with the reptile vet with one of my past dragons. The bill for treatment was so high I could have bought ten beardeds...

No he doesn't react if I touch it.
He eats mostly super worms because my family doesn't want roaches in the house. He also gets collard greens and clover. Sometimes mint and basil.

Super worms are not a staple feeder and are a treat worm- please find a staple insect like BSFL -- crickets or silk worms- if hes not reacting to touch its not gout- gout is very painful and he would flinch if it was gout - you can add some squash to his diet - here is a website for you to help w/ feeding a variety of vegies / fruit ignore the kale info its outdate and a good staple feeder Nutrition Content
since hes not being fed roaches they are a good cause for gout - but since hes not eating those something else is going on w/ the wrist -- do you have a hammock in the tank?

I see, I'll look into getting different insects like those.
Nope, no hammock. But I was doing some research and saw that people say too much vitamin d3 can cause joint swelling like gout. my calcium supplement says it has vitamin d3, so that might be the cause.

Im needing some questions answered about my female beardeddragon, I honestly have no idea on age , she was a recuse, as ive had a couple in my life an have experience. So 9 weeks in , she earing well pooping well getting comfortable, then approx 3-4 days ago the digging started. So I got a dig box set up in her 75 g tank. Well within 2 hours she dropped an egg. I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
