    Arcadia bulb placement

My arcadia bulb is on the back part of his his viv. He typically basks in this odd position. I really wonder if I need to move his uv tube in a 45 degree angle?

    Manuka honey...wow!

So my guy has an area of raw skin on his area below the nose from trying to get shed off of his chin. Looked through the posts (thanks XP29 and all) for the manuka honey suggestion. Healed almost 50% overnight. Pic of the original injury. Will post another tomorrow. Love this site!

Protazoan that is not coccidia...and my goy on flagyl does't want to eat much.

So my guy Scooby was diagnosed with spirochetes a couple of months ago at a well lizard visit. No symptoms, voracious appetite, but we gave the treatment. For the past three weeks, he has stopped eating his morning greens that he has eaten every morning since he was 8 weeks old, and moving a...

Sometimes things can be explained with simple answers...

My Scooby, (31 weeks) is a guy that has always followed daily patterns: eat a couple of greens after waking up, farts (my camera has volume), then poops, every single day. For the last four days, he has looked uncomfortable, has not eaten his greens, and has not had a stool. I was getting some...

Weird present I bought for my daughter's bday.

Beardie earrings: They are kind of creepy, but my newly turned 15 year old loved them!

    Thoughts on beardie pet insurance?

Does anyone have pet insurance on their beardie? The only one I found that insures reptiles is Nationwide. My last beardie, died from congenital kidney disease, and we paid about 3K for his care...worth every dime , but we are not rich people, so it was hard. I bought the Nationwide policy...

    Spirochetes infection...darn it!

My guy Scooby just turned 6 months so we just brought him into a reptile vet for his initial 6 month exam. He is 427 grams, 18 inches long, and growing very quickly. Stool sample says he has spiroochetes, and I am kind of beside myself because we keep his viv very clean. We are giving him...

My guy may be getting too big too fast...

So my guy ( Scooby) is under 6 months old and is about 17 inches, and over 300 grams. He eats his greens and bsfls in the morning and we feed him bugs twice a day. I wonder if we need to cut back on the bugs? He is getting big, too fast. His basking lights and uv are good. I don't want to grow...

I think I bought a uv light that is too long...

I just set up a new 120 gallon tank for my beardie (Scooby). I bought a 34 inch t5 10.0 and I think it is probably too long??? Any opinions are appreciated. I wonder if I should have bought a 24 inch? My guy is 5.5 months old.

Upgraded from 40 gallon to 120...Scooby is not happy!

So I just upgraded to a 120 gallon tank, and for the first time in his 5.5 months life, placed the uvb inside (T5 10.00). It's been two days and he seems to hate it. I know new environs bother beardies, but a couple times a day, he goes to his hide on the warm side (I have a lizard cam inside...

    zen habitat

Good morning. It looks like our go gallon tank is getting a bit snug for my beardie (Scooby). I am thinking about buying this one: 4'x2'x2' Original Wood Panel Reptile Enclosure | Zen Habitats My problem is that I cannot tell if the screen on top is wide or fine mesh. Does anyone have experience...

Newbie with questions about UV distance

Hello.I have been scouring this site regarding appropriate distance from the uv bulb to basking spot. I have a t5 10.0 with reflector on top of fine mesh. I have the strip next to the heat lamp so only the outer part of the rock is getting uv. If I put it on the other side of the heat lamp, it...
