remove the standing water in the little pond/bowl the water will be getting warmed up and some of it evaporating in the day under basking lamp.
I did that right after I posted. Didn't help his tank is in a whole in the wall where my old 32 in tv sat. I'll move it out into the open to see if it does anything. I'm using a Zoo Med Economy Analog Dual Thermometer and Humidity Gauge. I'll pick up an acurite one later when I go to work and put it in the room with my tank. I did order some desiccant dehumidifiers to see if it helps humidity at night goes up to 60-70 according to the hygrometer. But I've read reviews that the thing can be in accurate. He makes popping noises after I feed him and holds his breath a few seconds. Doesn't do it in the tank tho. I take him out to feed him and I'm trying the baths once a week
I agree that those analog thermometer/hygrometers aren't very accurate. You're better off using a digital for both. If you're having trouble with the humidity after that, you'll want to check it to ensure it's calibrated properly https://www.neptunecigar.com/tips/how-to-calibrate-your-hygrometer
I bought a digital one from the store. One of those acurite ones. I have it on the cool side of the tank and the outdoor sensor placed on the corner on the top of the tank. The readings are from 20% and 30%. He's starting his shedding process I think. I can post a pic if needed to see if it looks right. I'm starting to give him a bath after his morning meal every day
The accurite ones are pretty popular from what I've read on here. Should serve you well. %20-30 is on the low end. Should be OK but I wouldn't want it much lower than that as low humidity can also cause issues (dried mucous membranes, dehydration, etc.).
He drinks from his water dish and doesn't show any signs of dehydration that I can tell. I have 2 different manuals. One that came with the terrarium and the best seller one on amazon.
