There's a Sticky post in the "Website Comments" forum that actually provides a little history about how the site came to be (the question comes up now and then).
I'm glad you like the site. I don't spend a lot of time on the site anymore. Life's very different for me that it was 19 years ago (including a family and toddler). But I try to make sure it continues to run smoothly, and I TRY to stay involved with the moderators (haven't done as well at that this past year) on major issues that come up.
