Random bug

Toothless just ate a random flying insect that was in his tank. It looked like a small-ish mosquito but I'm in georgia and it's January, there are no mosquitos. I saw him trying to go after it and I got up to try to get it but he caught it before I could get him. Is there any reason for worry.? It was maybe a crane fly.?? I only saw a glimpse and it had long legs and wings and a small body, like a mosquitoe. Y'all I'm freaking out.

If you have BSFLs in his cage: the mature ones turn into flies...regardless, he probably enjoyed himself! No worries.

Yeah, but it didn't look like one of those, they kind of look like sweat bees almost.

I just know there's bugs he can't have and it stressed me out. He basically leapt off his hide and I saw in the reflection he was watching the bug so I went to get it. He missed it twice, he's a little derpy. And it just so happened to fly into his mouth and he ate it.

As long as it wasn't a firefly he's probably ok. Keep an eye on him, if he shows signs you can give him a little actived charcoal. There is a mixture also, i don't remember the ingredients @KarrieRee or @AHBD or @Drache613 could tell ya the mixture

He should be fine, there aren't too many common insects that are poisonous in the U.S.
Bees and wasps are even edible . As for the charcoal info , Drache + Karrie are in the know about that.

As long as it wasn't a firefly he's probably ok. Keep an eye on him, if he shows signs you can give him a little actived charcoal. There is a mixture also, i don't remember the ingredients @KarrieRee or @AHBD or @Drache613 could tell ya the mixture

It wasn't a firefly, they're only summer bugs here, just like mosquitoes. He seems okay, I'm fairly certain it was one of those bugs that looks like a mosquito.

Ok, great then. If it wasn't a firefly, then it was most likely just a harmless fly or other spindly like
insect. If he seems to be acting normally he should be fine. If you wanted to take precautionary
measures then you could use some activated charcoal daily for a few days along with some extra
oral fluids. Or if you have a few greens/herbs on hand such as mint, parsley, cilantro & basil or oregano
you can mix that up into a paste & give daily also to help with detoxing.

He seems to be fine. He ate whatever it was right before 7pm and I kept him up for a little while to keep an eye on him and he seemed to be fine. He woke up this morning, like he always does and still seems okay before going back to sleep for a bit longer.
