We have a BD addition to our family

Hi,

Pogo is a lovely 7 month old male BD and he has been with us for about 2-3 months. We are totally in love with him! Yesterday we found out he has pinworms and another parasite. Although we read quite a bit about BDs before we got Pogo we need to learn lots more! It seems we need to get rid of the substrate... Thanks for all the helpful advice.

Welcome to the site. You'll find tons of useful information here. I too was fobbed off with a load of unnecessary items like heatmap, specialist light bulb and worst of all, wood chip substrate. I had already checked this site out and said to the woman at the shop I planned to use paper towel as substrate and she said "no you only need that for hatchlings". anyway, I figured she knew what she was talking about and got the woodchip which was in for 1 week before we changed it to ceramic tile. I would trust this site over anything they tell you in the petshops. Another guy told me husband that my temps were too high (105 basking) and said it should be 90 max. I told my husband not to listen to the petshop people anymore and listen to me instead :lol:
