Hello all, I just joined the site today, mostly in order to get some advice with respect to my beardie's "hiding" behavior.
Back in May (May 11th to be precise) she underwent surgery to remove eggs due to pre-ovulatory follicular stasis.
The surgery went well and her recovery went great, and within several weeks she was active and eating and exhibiting good behavior all around.
However, over the past month or so she has gone back to the behavior she was showing before the surgery.
She constantly hides away under her hammock and is mostly inactive/lethargic unless we get her out.
She's not eating as much now as she was post-surgery, but she does eat and always gets excited about dubia roaches.
The vet has seen her since the surgery and can't identify anything obviously wrong.
She looks healthy and vibrant and other than the hiding doesn't display any concerning behavior.
I believe her enclosure is equipped with comfortable temps and humidity (see profile for that info), but I'm open to suggestions.
We do have an ceramic heater that comes on during the dark hours that keeps her enclosure warm for that time period.
Anyway, I just wanted to reach out here in case anyone else has been through this or similar and has any advice to offer.
Thanks!
Brandon

Hi Brandon --- so everything sounds good - how old is the UVB and is it directly over the basking decor 12-15 inches -- what are your night time temps?

The UVB is relatively new (~4-6 weeks). It's a 24" T10 tube and is centered at the top/inside of the enclosure, so it pretty much covers everything including the basking spot.
Night time temps are essentially the same as day time temps (within a degree or so) due to the ceramic heater that kicks on when the lights go out.
We have rearranged the decor in the enclosure a few times in the recent past, so that's possibly a source of stress, but we're just not sure.
Thanks for following up so promptly :)

Your night time temps should drop to 65-75 ---- anything over 75 at night is too warm --- cool and dark

She may just want to hide but one thing I’d change is the reptile carpet as it can harbor bacteria and maybe get a non adhesive shelf liner or some tiles. I’d also advise you make your basking temp from 95-100 (for adults) or 100-110 (for babies). You may also wanna take her to the vet and see if she has parasites. I don’t have a light on at night for my bearded dragon as lights can bother their sleep and you don’t have to worry about them being cold unless your house drops below 70 at night time. She may just not be a very social bearded dragon and just like to hide but maybe try these things.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
