Is this an okay sized terrarium for a bearded dragon?

It looks too narrow for an adult dragon. It may work out OK for the first few months with a baby. An adult will need at least the Exo-Terra 36''x18''x18'' or more generally a 4'x2'x2' enclosure to have enough space. The more space you can provide, the better really.

I was afraid it might be to narrow...is there a smaller species of bearded dragon? or what would you recommend sticking in this terrarium?

There is a smaller species called Rankins, but I don't know much about them. A tall tank would probably work well for snakes or small climbing lizards. Maybe Anoles. I haven't cared for many other species than dragons so I can't be of too much help in that department unfortunately.

Rankins have a smaller minimum cage size but many people still keep them in a 4x2x2.

What's the cage size?

It looks like a decent size for a crested gecko or other small arboreal gecko.

This tank would be perfect for geckos, and if u put water on the bottom it would be perfect for frogs
