Two months ☑️

This is the last week for Lilith until she turns 3 months old and she has been with me for two weeks now.
During this two weeks, she went from 12g to 25g now and from 15,5 cm to 22 cm. Needless to say she is eating well and finally seems to show her vibrant colors after her recent shed :)

She is polarizing though, climbing on my hand one day and trying to bite me the next day. But hey, at least she is showing some charakter ;)

Man your describing Zsa Zsa to the T. I actually stuck my finger in her mouth last night and dared her to go on and bite me. Luckily she is still small because she obliged lol 😆 she doesn't run away if I'm sppt cleaning or feeding but if I'm trying to handle her all bets are off.
I love sassy beardies though!!!
Your girl is so gorgeous, she is going to be a stunner I bet.

@ChileanTaco Yeah, since she needs feeding three times a day, I feed her at 6.30 am before I leave for work and that's where she is the most...edgy and sometimes ignores the food in my hand in favour for my fingertip.
I'd love her colors to stay that way but I fear they may geg a bit darker...

@xp29 Yes, she is just like my boy was, she doesn't mind me at all until I try to pick her up, that's where the odds are 50/50. She's even glass surfing before she poops, so she gets my attention. She waits till I come to the glass, stops and then climbs up her branch to deliver ;)
Nice to hear Zsa Zsa is sassy as well and not shy to show what she wants and at what time she wants it 😅

Taco
@Chris.

My Taco got a lighter color over time. He was chocolate brown with grey (grey on the back, not some stress marks) when I got him, reminded me of when a bar of bitter chocolate gets a bit older :D
Over his first half year, he gradually changed into some "sand" colors with ochre, orange, mauve, and the beard from white to orange. I have no idea whether morphs are a bit more "stable" in their color, or what are the genetics of my Taco (was sold as "standard", reptile store who always gets them from the same breeder also sometimes has morphs; so I think they know what morphs are but I would not wonder if they might sell some babies that don't look very specific from a random pairing as "standard").

How does she poop? From a branch down, or on the branch?
I had in fact never seen how my Taco "does his business" until a few weeks ago. He seemed to hide "how he does his business". It was sometimes that I was not watching just for a minute and yes, that's when he pooped. Always did it when I was not looking.

When I saw him now the first time "doing his business", he did it like that: one back foot up a stone to create a larger gap, and pooping into that, and when he did it it looked like one would press toothpaste out of a tube :D Then he stretches his legs and lifts the tail while walking away so he's not walking through it. He's now 11 month old, I have him since he was 3 months old (reptile store gets them at 2 month of age, he was a bit older when I got him as he was the last one of his siblings to be sold*) and never made himself dirty.
He always pooped, from the beginning, in the sand and within 10 cm of the front glass. He (also) soon learned that's us humans who remove the poo. He's not signaling (scratching or such) that there is poo, but just avoids the area until it's removed.

*Somebody always needs to be the last one :D

Your Taco does poop like my boy Luis but it might be they have more "experience" already.

Lilly does poop on her basking branch (unfortunately). She puts her tail to one side and really presses it out. Then she will drag herself forward with the vent on the branch to clean herself.
Luis always does a wide stance and I think she does also but because the branch is round, her vent does not really gain much elevation and she will end up with the front legs and the tail on the branch and the backlegs tangling in the air while she sits on her "creation". Sounds funny, looks funny and I don't know how but she manages to keep her underside clean while doing this.

Luis was quite bright orange when I got him and turned dark red with time, although he changes his color tone a lot between orange and red.

Mine also changes his color within general "sand colors" a lot (with mauve/purple or without, the orange being yellowish or very deep, the ochre being like play sand or more like peanuts), but "chocolate brown" is a color pattern that's gone since many months. Taco had no sand colors in the beginning, even when basking.

Zsa Zsa hangs her bottom over the side so the poop falls well away from her (85-90% of the time) The problem I have is that her aim is impeccable and the poop always lands and fills the texture of her decor in the hardest friggen spot to clean on the danged thing. I've already spent at least 100 hour at the faucet sanitizing it lol.

It's amazing, Lilith doubled in size in two weeks! I began to forget how quickly children grow.
Thank you for telling about her, it’s so nice to read positive stories about kids. By the way, how is Luis doing?

Yeah it's crazy, but I admit that I might like fo feed her a little too much and I should probably (and will, I promise) cut back on the bugs a little :)

Luis is moody still. He sheds one leg for three days the other leg after that and now his tail. Lilly has shed her whole body faster than he does one hand, lol. Might be his age or the leatherback gene but yeah, shedding is always a bit demanding for him.
Still likes his afternoon naps though:

I think as long as Lilith eats greens and vegetables, everything will be fine. I also always find it difficult to stick to the Foxy diet. He is very stubborn and doesn't really like greens. It seems to me that he sometimes waits for his bugs and tries not to waste energy in vain waiting for roaches.
By the way, he is also shedding, his face has already shed and his belly has begun to shed, so he is also not very active for the last 3-4 days.

He is really switching his color a lot 😅

The two rows are not really spikes, just kind of bigger scales. Bigger for a leatherback meaning they are probably normal size...

This looks in fact like the more smaller scales of mine :D
I would also guess with him being a leatherback, you could pet him in the opposite direction (from tail to head)? The scales and spikes of mine will "teach" everybody immediately not to do that ;) (they are really that sharp it scratches up the skin if by accident petting in the opposite direction)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
