Falkor the bratty luck dragon ;-) & his new friend, Raphael

Falkor is my 1st beardie & a major brat. He has been with me for about a month now & is a spoiled little thing. LOL I'm not exactly sure on his age as he was purchased from Petsmart & we all know how well they know their animals. He was tiny when he first came home & has grown a surprising amount in just a month.

This is Falkor on his 3rd day home.
falkor1_zps914f0848.jpg

& this is Falkor as of today!
I am really amazed by how much he grew! In just a month he is soooooooo much bigger. I wish I had thought to measure him during those first few days but as of today he is 9 1/2 inches.I need batteries for the scale that I have or I would have weighed him.
So what do you experienced folks think? Does he look like he has grown well in the month he's been with me? My basis for reference is limited.
falkor2_zps4d6d4ce4.jpg

He is such a snuggler that it's hard for me to get pics of him lol
falkor3_zpsadba4152.jpg

He has such a yellow tint to his head that my daughters think I should have called him Lemon drop.
falkor4_zpsd992a195.jpg

I wish that I could get his colors captured right but this camera...
I am glad I had expected him to have a quirky personality. I researched a lot before he came home & I have heard a few friends talking about theirs so it's no surprise he can be such a brat & he really is lucky he is so cute. I wouldn't ever call him exactly lazy but he isn't a high energy baby either. He does his playtime but most of the day he basks & takes it easy waiting for chow time. It must be nice. LOL
I swear if I could just get him to eat the way I want him to it would make my life easier! My dear little one is in love with his greens but other veggies are a no go at this point. They are offered but if it isn't green & leafy he just ignores it. I just started a dubia colony & was hoping to get that off the ground before he ate all the babies but he thinks it should be different. You see I was foolish enough to think that it would be a good idea to incorporate a dubia or two into each feeding just to transition him slowly. He is fed 3 times a day as much as he can eat in 15 mins plus the veggies are available all day. Well since I started him on the dubia or two he is flat out refusing to eat any crickets! I swear I hate those stinky things too but I need them to get eaten. However my dear beardie turns his back on them at every oportunity. I guess I will have to order more dubia & let the crickets grow for his frog brothers. :banghead: In case it isn't obvious I HATE having crickets in my house.

Sounds like it, that sounds like a good idea, putting him in a cat carrier for when you're cleaning his tank. You have a lot more going on at your place than I do, I'm alone, so just be and the dragons and geckos. Because I live alone I have the whole living room partitioned off, so they can't get out anymore, even though Gabriel managed to get out 3 times, until I figured out what he was doing to get past the partitions and fixed the problem. Once he was wandering the hallway  then twice I found him curled up under the computer desk  So that's also why he can't be out unless I have the time to supervise him. And the day after I found him in Rubio's tank, I cut his nails and the morning after he was climbing the couch again  So grounded he is!
We are constantly busy. LOL Honestly it is a good thing for me. It keeps me from thinking too much as I can be my own worst enemy. Too much time on my hands is always bad. I wish that I could have that kind of setup for our dragon babies but I think they are really safer outside than down on our floor. LOL Thankfully I can have Falkor out a lot for snuggles & a small bit of exploration. His big exploring is about 8 inches from me all around/on my big comfy chair. Raphael is nowhere near secure enough or lazy enough to be out yet. We are hoping that sometime soon we can have him out at least for a little bit. *fingers crossed* The cat carrier is definitely a life saver both figuratively & literally. LOL

So here are some more pics of Falkor out & about or as much as he will allow himself out & about.

He really likes being on the heating pad while he is out :)

I know it looks like my youngest is going to poke his ear out but we practice the one finger pet so he can be sure he's being easy.

Outside time!

He really doesn't look all too happy.

I hope he really starts enjoying himself outside soon.

He still looks like such a baby to me. LOL

Ok maybe not a little baby.
907844_10152135071336992_1927353311_n_zps028ccee7.jpg

He is such a handsome boy.

Maybe I take too many pics...
909055_10152135072436992_1448384732_n_zps778a9296.jpg

I think he really liked being on the tree.
909083_10152135071956992_77742472_n_zps3a2326a8.jpg

I think he might enjoy being the center of attention.
909355_10152135071861992_370166253_n_zps27adee8c.jpg

He looks like he's trying to figure out how to breath fire. LOL

How about a compromise? He is a BIG baby  And there is no such thing as too many pictures :D
 I love that compromise! Good to know because I am about to work on some pics of Raphael.

Liz is right, there is no such thing as too many pics of our lovely beardies! Falcor is probably a bit freaked out because of all the sky, as that's where they instinctually know their predators come from (birds are their main predators), he'll relax eventually, and he seemed to enjoy being in that tree, he sure is a long beardie and that is one long tail! All the pics turned out great and I really enjoyed the pics of him in the grass, he seemed a bit more relaxed there. The real sun is such a boost for them, too!

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of Raphael, too, little cutie!

:) Well as long as photobucket will cooperate with me I will be posting plenty of pics. He was practically on me in the grass. LOL The tree he just froze in but he did seem to enjoy it. I was just a little worried he would get a bit too cool as it was only in the 60*s so we didn't stay out long. Raphael is still a bit skittish so I am working on the pics of him. :)

So the boys had bath time today. Raphael is not happy with us for putting him in water. He tried to climb out of the tub in the tub & it didn't work for him.
64100_10152135957966992_1802859134_n_zps13fc6bdf.jpg

He is a mess I swear.
532913_10152135957596992_159404483_n_zps7fe2c410.jpg

I don't thin he likes the water a bit.
544778_10152135957081992_1704457212_n_zps19201345.jpg

He did figure out how to get out though.
534848_10152135956981992_825954665_n_zps6b5a4c51.jpg

He left an obnoxious present lol
64436_10152135958356992_689553488_n_zps6bf4fa7a.jpg

The stink eye for the bath
155772_10152135958516992_71672177_n_zpsde11bda5.jpg

He even set about destroying his tank afterwards.
374492_10152135922136992_1417635008_n_zps5f51a390.jpg

Before his bath he knew something was up.
485374_10152135921816992_1009549751_n_zps146a075e.jpg

He is so suspicious.
534856_10152135922286992_887415579_n_zpsf114e340.jpg

Raphael is so handsome though :D
733854_10152135922446992_1683481660_n_zps5a5b80b8.jpg

He can be really sweet when he wants to be though.
547830_10152135958761992_157568541_n_zps4801c65c.jpg

My Gabby girl made this for him :D She is very proud of him.
So it was Falkor's turn & as usual he really didn't care where he was. LOL
47776_10152135938266992_871403111_n_zps803b9b12.jpg

He is such a lazy dragon
58585_10152135935261992_1018994998_n_zps72c40722.jpg

So maybe the size difference is a little more obvious between them with the pics.
527153_10152135938021992_1930643279_n_zps495f704b.jpg

He even tried to sleep in the tub lol
543840_10152135938461992_1035649336_n_zps8ebc087e.jpg

I think Falkor takes almost everything in stride.
604137_10152135938626992_423993545_n_zps3882f6ac.jpg

So there are the boys today. I suppose Raphael will get over being mad at me eventually. LOL

I'm sure he will, too. I loved the bath picture and you can't help but love the "present" at least you know his poops are GOOD

I chose a name for the baby, Titan, mainly because of him getting through that burn so well. He hasn't had a bath, but that's the next thing I'm doing, after I've had breakfast, or I guess at noon that would be considered brunch!

Raphael is very handsome but so if Falcor, they seem to have the same colours, even though it's hard to tell in pictures. Cameras can never get their true colours, ever. Thanks for sharing, love your boys!

That they are. Both boys go like champs. Better than the alternative I guess.

Oh I love, love, love the name Titan! That is so fitting for him. I hope that he enjoys his bath & it helps with the shed. Whenever I decide to eat my first meal is breakfast to me. :D I am really happy that you were able to get him. No matter how much juggling it takes it is a definite improvement on his situation & I am sure he is more than worth it.

They are very similar in color. It's hard to tell even in person because Raphael hasn't shown his true colors consistently if you know what I mean. He stayed very dark for a good while when he first got here & then he started shedding. LOL I'm reserving judgment until he is done with his shed. I do think he is probably VERY similar to Falkor though. Thanks :D I rather love having a place to post pics of them where people don't think I'm nuts.

My baby beardie likes to sit in their water bowl. I'm curious on whether it would hurt them or not.
Any thoughts an knowledge will be helpful. Thank u

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
